What a MONTH!

I can’t believe we’re wrapping up the first month of 2020. I swear it was New Year’s Eve just yesterday.

It’s been a whirlwind of a start, let me tell ya. There has been a lot of changes already, and I can tell 2020 is going to be full of adventures.

Let’s dive in!

ONE: I Got a New Job

Yep, that’s right. I got a new job! I started at the beginning of this month and time has flown by. When you read this, I’ll be wrapping up my fourth week. It doesn’t seem possible. I’ve learned so much already and the people I work with are amazing. It’s a lot different from my previous gig, but it was time for a change.

To recap, I worked at a digital marketing agency for 5 years in its social media department. Although I loved it and learned so much from it, I knew it was time to move on and develop new skills. In my new role, I still work in marketing but I don’t focus on just social media anymore. Here’s to new adventures!

TWO: New Morning Mercies Devotional

I’ve already talked about this devotional on my blog, but it truly is worth multiple posts on here. I heard amazing reviews about this devotional and asked for it for Christmas. I love that they’re on the shorter side (one page max) and includes additional Bible reading if you want to dive deeper. The devotionals are encouraging and relatable to everyday life. Highly recommend.

THREE: Turning Point

I went to Turning Point for the first time. If you’re wondering if you should go, GO. They have incredible lattes and breakfast foods. Their omelettes are out of this world and reasonably priced. DO IT. If you’re still not convinced, Turning Point is the place where I got the delicious and beautiful latte featured in this blog post. ALL the heart eyes, am I right?

FOUR: Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah

This is another multiple-post-worthy book. I mentioned it in my recent blog post, Books I Read in January, and knew I had to talk about it again in my monthly favorites. It’s written by the same author who wrote The Nightingale, and I’m quickly realizing that every book Kristin Hannah writes becomes my new favorite book.

FIVE: One-Second Everyday Challenge

The 1-Second Everyday Challenge is BACK for the 3rd year! It’s fun to see how quickly the app has spread over the last couple of years. When I started using it, I knew maybeeee three other people who used it, too. Now I know at least 20! The app prompts you to take a one-second video every day for a compilation at the end of the year. It’s so fun to watch and reminisce on all the small moments you may have forgotten about. If you haven’t watched it already, you can check my 2019 One-Second Everyday Challenge video here.

SIX: Painting With a Twist

GUYS. I did it!! I finally went to Painting With a Twist! It’s been on my 101 in 1,001 Days list for foreverrrr. Seriously, I kept moving it from one list to the next. When I saw a Facebook advertisement for an upcoming Painting With a Twist that was FRIENDS-themed, I was in. And I made Luke and my friends Po and Alyssa come, too. We painted the Central Perk logo (or some version of it that isn’t trademarked), did Friends trivia*, and it was a really fun experience. Very memorable, very stressful. I realized I’m too Type A to do freestyle painting so my painting skills were NOT amazing… BUT it was a blast overall. So happy I did it (and it’s finally checked off the 101 List — yay!)

* Yes, for those who are curious, I did win Friends trivia. It was a really close game, though!
