I love a good movie night, especially when it’s a Christmas movie.

Luke and I chill on the couch, grab a bowl of popcorn or ice cream, and even Lucy snuggles up and watches, too! (Or she falls asleep, which is more likely.)

Like some recipes scream Christmas to me, there are some movies that I have to watch every year. It’s tradition, ya know?

I’m sure you have your own list of movies that you consider Christmas classics. I think to some degree, everyone has a list so me sharing mine isn’t novel. But it is fun to reminisce on Christmas traditions, and watching Elf and A Christmas Story are two movies that we watch multiple times each Christmas season.

Although there are plenty to choose from, my favorites list is quite short. They are (in no particular order):

  • Elf

  • How The Grinch Stole Christmas (the original one)

  • The Grinch (the newest one; Pentatonix is part of the soundtrack!)

  • A Charlie Brown Christmas

  • The Christmas Story (you’ll shoot your eye out! you’ll shoot your eye out!)

  • Santa Clause (there are three in the series, but the first remains my favorite)

If you’re looking for a good Christmas movie to watch, then you’ve come to the right place. My friend Brittany is the real MVP and created a Christmas Watch List 2020 Google doc! (Seriously a LIFE SAVER.) She’s been watching, rating, and reviewing each movie and even includes which streaming platform they’re available on so you can watch them, too. Check out Brittany’s Christmas Watch List 2020 Google doc here.

Additionally, my friend Bekah also recently wrote a blog post on how to have the perfect Christmas movie night so you can check it out here: A Very Merry Movie Night.

Between some of these resources and your own Christmas movie night traditions, I hope you have a great, relaxing weekend and are able to kick back, relax, and enjoy a Christmas movie soon!
