Monthly Roundup: June Favorites

It’s insane to me that June is pretty much over. WHAT. How is it almost July?

There are days where it seems like we’re still in March or April. This quarantine/social distancing/”new normal” of ours is really messing with my brain. What is time? What are plans?

Through the thick of this month, it felt like we really were not doing anything except wake up, work, exercise, sleep, repeat. But looking back, there were definite highlights and I’m so excited to share them with you. Here are a few of my June favorites.

{ONE} Fitbit Versa 2

The veterinarian/animal hospital we take Lucy to hosted a Pet Photo Contest on Facebook this month. Luke and I both entered pictures of Lucy, but Luke won! The prize was a new Fitbit Versa 2, which he graciously gave to me since he has an Apple Watch. I’ve worn it every day since and it’s amazing for tracking steps, heart rate, water intake, and a bunch of other health stats plus it has a lot of great app add-ons, too!

{TWO} Bloom Planner

You know what time of year it is…new planner time! My Vision Planner only goes until the end of June 2020 so it was time to purchase a new one! Yes, there are jokes about how useless planners are in 2020, but honestly, I love mine and have used it every day despite the fact all plans were pretty much cancelled for two months straight. I am obsessed with Bloom Planners’ products and the Vision Planner is my go-to! This is the one I got for 2020-2021, and I LOVE the print. Here’s a code for 10% off a Bloom product if you’re interested :)

{THREE} Piano Bench Update

Okay, now that I’m typing this, I’m starting to sense a theme. I love the palm leaf print! Reupholstering the piano beach has been on my to-do list since we got the piano a few years ago. It was an old, faded plaid fabric from the previous owner and honestly was crampin’ my style. This month I decided to finally make the time to look for fabrics and found this cute design at Joann’s! I ordered it, picked it up, and a few days later (thanks to Luke’s help), the piano bench was beautiful again. It now fits perfectly with our decor.

{FOUR} New Fence

I don’t have any pictures of this, but another home project we tackled this month was building a fence for our backyard! Lucy LOVES it, and we love it too, now that we don’t have to chase Lucy around trying to catch her before she runs into the street. The day the fence was complete, a neighbor walked by and said, “Man! We will miss watching you guys chase her down.” I guess it was entertainment for all.

{FIVE} OCMD Getaway

This month we were fortunate to spend a few days in OCMD with my family. Every year, my family rents a condo for a week at the beach but due to everyone’s busy schedules we usually can’t all be there at once. This year, we were able to make it work so that the whole fam was there for a few days and it was so fun relaxing by the ocean and reading a few books! (Stay tuned for an upcoming post about all the books I read in May and June!)

{SIX} 1950s Photoshoot

Two of Luke’s sisters came to stay with us for a few days this past week. They live in Florida so it was nice to spend a few days hanging out, watching movies, playing games, and doing things at the house since basically everything is still closed here. Ronnie and Mazz had the idea of doing a 1950s photoshoot on my back patio. It was inspired by a bright yellow table + chairs set we got recently (not pictured) and was made possible by my polkadot dress and pink heels. Shout out to Mazz and Ronnie for styling my hair and editing the photo to make my 1950s dreams come true! Check out another picture from the shoot here.

{SEVEN} Blue Door Goals

Last but not least, my blue door. Truly, Luke is the MVP of House Project Galore this month (and this quarantine, to be honest). I’ve been pinning blue doors for years and knew I wanted a blue front door when I owned a house someday. There were other projects that had to come first but yesterday Luke came home with paint and made my blue door dreams come true. I’m obsessed with this door so sorry not sorry if you see it on the blog (or on my Instagram) multiple times!
