Monthly Roundup: August Favorites

Did August fly by for anyone else? Time flies and drags all at once.

I have a love-hate relationship with August, especially this year. People are divided between wanting fall to arrive RIGHT NOW and wanting summer to stay a bit longer.

Usually by August, I can’t WAIT for all things fall, including pumpkin spice lattes, mums, boots, you name it, I love it.

Not this year. I’m actually kind of sad that summer is coming to an end. It’s been so nice taking family walks around the neighborhood and having daylight until 8:30-9PM. I’ll miss that.

But I digress. August was a good month although not too many big/exciting things happened, which is honestly fine. Fall is usually a busy time so I’m okay with a quieter “calm before the storm” month. Here are a few of my August favorites.

{ONE} Erasable Pens

How did I not have these sooner? Erasable pens are literally GENIUS, especially for 2020. I purchased this 7-pack from Amazon and I’m obsessed with all the colors. And if this sounds familiar, yes I mentioned erasable pens in my 11 Work From Home Essentials post last week. #sorrynotsorry

{TWO} Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew

My friend shared a photo of a Starbucks drink on Instagram last week and the drink looked incredible. I immediately DM’d her and was like, WHAT IS THAT. Turns out it was a Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew with Caramel Drizzle. I literally drove to Starbucks later that day to get it. And it’s amazing. Might be my new splurge when I’m looking for something extra fancy at Starbucks!

{THREE} Old Navy Dresses

This month I’ve been really into dresses. Like, more than normal. They’re way more comfortable and easy to throw on when I don’t feel like putting a real outfit together. Because let’s be real, working from home does not require professional attire so I haven’t put together a real outfit in MONTHS. Enter: Old Navy Dresses. I have a few and they’re definitely staples in my closet, especially when I start to transition to fall fashion in September.

{FOUR} Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations Podcast

I’ve been trying to find new podcasts lately and I stumbled on Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations podcast. I’ve only listened to a few episodes, but so far I’ve loved the episodes where she interviews Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson.

{FIVE} Mid-afternoon iced coffee

Coffee is a theme of August, but isn’t it always? I’ve been enjoying making an afternoon iced coffee on work days. It really is a highlight of the day!

{SIX} National Dog Day

August 26 was National Dog Day, which really means nothing unless you’re a dog owner and want an excuse to share pictures of your pup. You can view my National Dog Day tribute to Lucy here.
