Monthly Roundup: August Favorites
I can’t believe we’re already at the end of August. It feels like summer just started and yet, Summer Fridays end this week and grad classes start Monday! Time’s a’flyin’.
Thankfully, August was packed with some fun stuff to make the end of summer memorable. Besides reading some amazing books (stay tuned for those!) and some work-related wins, there were a few things that stood out to me this month.
Here are a few of my August favorites.
{ONE} This Amazon Dress
Luke and I attended a beach wedding this month! It was my first beach wedding and honestly, I was a bit at a loss on what to wear for it. It was on a Sunday morning so I figured brunch attire would be appropriate. A lot of my dresses are either too fancy or too casual for such an event so I looked everywhere for an affordable solution. I ended up finding this dress on Amazon, ordered it and hoped for the best. It fit true to size, was breathable, HAS POCKETS, and was less than $25. I paired it with some gladiator wedges, simple gold jewelry, and voila! Beach wedding ready.
{TWO} Old Navy Jeans
I’ve also been on the hunt for some good jeans. To be honest, I’ve worn the same Forever21 jeans for a few years now and they’ve held up incredibly well. Forever21 jeans are one of the few clothing items that actually last more than a couple of months. However, it’s time for an upgrade since they’re starting to wear out. I’m a huge Old Navy fan so decided to check out their jeans and bought two pairs to start. I’m 5’2 so I purchased petite sizes and they’re great. I can’t wait to build some fall outfits around these boyfriend ripped jeans specifically.
{THREE} MyFitnessPal App
I’ve been dealing with some minor health issues this summer so I started tracking my health information for reference and to have tangible results to share if needed. As you know, I love my FitBit Versa 2 for tracking steps, heart rate, and water intake. This month I started using MyFitnessPal to track other things and I’ve gotta say, it’s been great! Scanning foods and tracking nutrients is super easy and it easily syncs up with my FitBit, which is a huge perk.
{FOUR} Beach Vacation
Luke and I traveled to the beach for a week this month and it was lovely. We had fantastic weather and a really relaxing time of chilling by the water, reading, walking the boardwalk, checking out new restaurants, and just enjoying the time away from reality. We also had Dumser’s ice cream for the first time and it was definitely a highlight from the trip!
