Monthly Roundup: January Favorites
I am in disbelief that January is coming to a close. What a month! I can’t say it was the best month ever, but it certainly was a decent start to 2022.
There’s a lot of pressure for January to be great. You want to conquer your goals and a lot of people look at January as the unofficial test on whether or not the rest of the year is going to be good.
If January was a good month for you, great! If not, it’s okay. There are 11 months left of 2022 and it’s never too soon or too late to make changes, conquer your goals, and start fresh.
With that said, as I reflect on the first month of 2022, there are a few key things that I want to share with you! Here are a few of my January favorites.
{ONE} Tabata workout
As cliche as it is, I really want to focus on my health this year. I had some minor health things come up in 2021 and now that we’re getting back on track, I’ve been trying to find new workouts to integrate into my exercise routine. I stumbled upon this 20-minute Tabata workout from MyFitnessPal and I. LOVE. it. You don’t need weights, it takes 20 minutes, and trust me, you feel it the next day. So good.
{TWO} Dairy-Free Challenge
I’ve been going dairy-free this month! Mainly because over the holidays, I consumed a lot of cheese and chocolate and I wanted to start fresh in the new year. I set out to only go dairy-free for the month of January, but it’s made me think twice about the foods I consume. I’ve slipped up once or twice, but overall, it’s been a really fun challenge and I’m glad I did it.
{THREE} Chill Lofi Study Beats Playlist
Grad school started up again this month so I’ve been spending a lot more time on my computer. I recently discovered this Chill Lofi Study Beats Spotify playlist and it’s been my go-to when I want background music but don’t want anything with lyrics. It makes me feel like I’m in a coffee shop and helps me focus when writing papers late at night!
{FOUR} Lucy Turned 2
Guys. I don’t know how this is possible, but Lucy turned TWO this month. TWO. Wasn’t she just a fluffy little puppy?! We didn’t do anything super crazy for her birthday, but I did purchase some birthday dog treats from Amazon and pulled out her birthday bandana from last year for a quick photo.
{FIVE} Turning Point
Every January, my brother Zach and I get breakfast together. It’s become a tradition and so we went to Turning Point this year. I’ve been there before and love their breakfast offerings, but their lattes are my absolute favorite. They’re almost too pretty to drink!
{SIX} Timed To-Do List from Bloom Planners
I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this Timed Daily To-Do List from Bloom Planners but it deserves a repeat mention. I’ve been relying on this to-do list this month, especially since I’m balancing work, grad school, and a bunch of other things. I love that you prioritize your tasks, write down any other to-dos, and time batch them all in one place. I don’t use it every day, but when I do, it helps me stay realistic about what I can accomplish in a day.
