Monthly Roundup: September Favorites

I’m going to admit this right now: September was a blur.

Honestly, this entire year has been flying by, but September has a way of slipping by in a blink.

Tomorrow we officially start my favorite month of the year, and I know that is going to fly by even faster somehow. But before we officially enter into my favorite month of fall, here are a few of my September favorites.

{ONE} Luke’s birthday.

Luke’s birthday is in early September, right around Labor Day. He’s an easy person to celebrate! We had some family over for dinner on Labor Day, and then on his actual birthday, we went to dinner at a local restaurant that we both love. And, to keep the tradition goin’, I baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies (Luke’s all-time favorite dessert).

{TWO} Crockpot Chicken Pot Pie.

I woke up one morning thinking about chicken pot pie, which probably isn’t normal. Until recently, I haven’t had it in years. I searched Pinterest to find a recipe, and stumbled upon this Crockpot Chicken Pot Pie recipe. It is delicious, and I will definitely be making it again this fall. So easy to throw it all together in a crockpot and not have to worry about it!

{THREE} Banana pumpkin bread.

Another food favorite? Don’t mind if I do. I also made banana pumpkin bread this month and it screams fall. It made our house smell amazing, and it tasted just as good. Here’s the recipe I found on Pinterest. It’s a must-try!

{FOUR} House projects.

September (actually, this entire summer) has been a month of house projects. You could say we’re in full-on nesting mode over here. I promise to share the final products as soon as they’re complete, but a lot of progress was made including painting the new office and finding a dresser for Baby Girl’s nursery!

{FIVE} Bible Study.

My church recently held a four week-long women’s Bible study studying various women in the genealogy of Jesus. It was an encouraging, insightful study and I learned so much about Bible characters like Rahab, Naomi, Esther, and Bathsheba. I’m so thankful I got to be apart of it!

{SIX} Raspberry La Croix.

I mentioned this last week in my Second Trimester Recap, but I have been obsessed with sparkling water lately. OBSESSED. Like, I can’t get enough of it. My go-to flavor right now is raspberry-flavored La Croix, but as I’m writing this, I’m drinking grapefruit-flavored Bubly and it’s also very good. I don’t know what it is, but it was definitely a discovery-turned-favorite this month.

{SEVEN} I passed my glucose test!

This is a new favorite, since I found out this week… I passed my glucose test! Hallelujah. That drink was no fun. It tasted like strong, flat orange soda and I chugged it so it could be over quickly. I obviously have never taken a glucose test before, so I had no idea how my body would react or if I’d pass, but I did and I’m so thankful!
