Monthly Roundup: January Favorites

January is such a roller coaster of a month, isn’t it?

We enter it excited, motivated, and hopeful for the year ahead.

And then by mid-January, the holiday decor is packed up, our New Year’s resolutions don’t seem as fun as they did on December 31, and the never-ending winter has set in for the foreseeable future.

But here we are, at the end of January, and we’ve made it. February is just a few days away.

I’ve decided to keep my Monthly Roundup posts going into 2023, so today I’m sharing a few things that have made these long January days bearable. Let’s dive in.

{ONE} The Harry & Meghan Netflix series

I’m not a huge fan of the Royal Family, but I decided to check out the Harry & Meghan docu-series on Netflix. Each of the six episodes is about an hour long, so it was a manageable series to “binge” in the first days home with Vienna when I was awake more than I was asleep. It’s definitely a shocking take on the Royal Family and provides a unique glimpse of their perspective on how things “went down” between the Royals and Harry & Meghan. If you’re a devoted Royals enthusiast, you probably won’t like this series because of how they’re portrayed, but I found it educational, entertaining, and “binge-able.”

{TWO} Pink Stanley Cup

I received a pink Stanley cup for Christmas (thank you, Alice!) and I now understand the hype surrounding this water bottle. It is HUGE and keeps my water super cold for hours. And although it is a massive tumbler, it fits perfectly in a cup holder, which is super convenient when you’re on-the-go. I’ve never owned a Hydroflask, Yeti, or other “trendy” water bottles, so I don’t know how this compares. However, I will say that I’ve drank a lot of water since receiving the Stanley cup for Christmas, love that it comes with a straw, and I keep it with me at all times. Plus, it’s the perfect shade of PINK (if you know, you know).

{THREE} Yulelog with Classical Music on YouTube

I’ve been attempting to “train” Vienna to fall asleep even if it’s noisy. That way if we’re at church, have people over, or want to watch a show while she’s napping, our actions (ideally) won’t disturb her enough to wake up unless she absolutely needs to. One of the ways I’m doing this is by playing this video I found on YouTube basiclaly all day long. It plays classical music and is a “live” video, so it never ends. It just plays and plays. It makes for great background noise since it’s just classical music, and honestly, I wish I found it sooner! It helps create a cozy and soothing atmosphere, whether you have a sleeping baby or not. Highly recommend checking it out!

{FOUR} Apple Watch

I’m able to wear my Apple Watch again! During pregnancy, I had trouble wearing it because the watch band I had wasn’t very stretchy so it didn’t quite fit on my increasingly-swollen wrist (fun times). But now, I can wear it again and am reminded how useful the Apple Watch can be. It’s a useful tool to quickly complete tasks like set timers and alarms, check texts, check my activity levels, record my workouts, etc.

{FIVE} Baby Brezza

I had to include this baby item in my monthly roundup because it is AMAZING and has quickly become one of the most used items in our home. The Baby Brezza is what I like to call the “Baby Keurig.” It makes formula bottles in seconds, which is perfect when I’m holding a crying, hungry baby and only have one free hand. It is a life saver and I’m so thankful we registered for it!
