Monthly Roundup: February Favorites

I can’t believe we’re already nearing the end of February. I feel like I say this at the end of every month, but time really does fly.

February has been a month of adjusting, being present, waking up each day with a plan and then pivoting a thousand times, and figuring out this whole Mom thing. It’s also been a month of squeezing in hobbies and “me time” when possible so I can be the best wife and mom for my little family.

Anyways, there were a few favorites that jumped out to me this month, so let’s get into it.

{ONE} Maternity Leave

Maybe I’ll write a whole post about maternity leave, but it has been an amazing experience so far. It’s a wild ride of adjusting to motherhood, taking care of a baby, and attempting to create and stick to a routine. Being a Mom is truly better than I ever thought it’d be (even if I have to change poopy diapers approximately 100 times a day), and I’m so thankful for these precious months of just me and Vi. (The weeks are going by way too quickly, though. Time slow down!)

{TWO} Visiting Local Coffee Shops

I’ve been trying to venture out of the house more with Vi. At first it was a daunting task to make sure the diaper bag was packed and that she was fed, changed, and secured in the car seat. The more I do it, though, the more comfortable I feel. So, this month we ventured to two new local coffee shops: Kaffe Karma and Scout Cafe. I love exploring where we live and finding new coffee shops. These two didn’t disappoint and their specialty lattes were amazing.

{THREE} Friends’ International Delight Coffee Creamer

GUYS. International Delight released a limited-edition Friends coffee creamer this month. It is Hazelnut Mocha-flavored and just as delicious as it sounds. I could not, for the life of me, find it anywhere. My friend Katie surprised me with it, though, and she is the true MVP for making this coffee & Friends lover’s day. I’m trying not to use it super quickly because 1) the packaging is adorable and 2) the flavor is so good. I’m going to be sad when it’s gone.

{FOUR} The Chosen

Luke and I started watching The Chosen this month and just finished Season 1. We are sort of late to the party on this one, because there are 3 seasons so far and they just started filming the fourth. It follows the life of Christ and shares the stories of those who followed Him. I’ll be the first to admit I was skeptical about watching it since in my opinion, a lot of Christian shows can be cheesy. But my dad highly recommended it to me and I take his recs seriously because he doesn’t recommend anything lightly! I’m glad we gave it a chance because I love it. You can watch the first season on Netflix.

{FIVE} Vienna’s Milestones

My girl is growing and I’m not okay with it. She turned 2 months old this week. She loves to smile, talk, kick, and eat her hands. She’s a pro at tummy time, a fantastic eater, and a decent sleeper. She loves the car and falls asleep almost instantly whenever she’s in her carseat or stroller. She was born with three teeth (yes, you read that correctly…THREE teeth) and so she’s basically been teething and slobbering since Day 1. Her personality is starting to really shine and I just love watching her take in the world around her. It sounds like such a cliche Mom thing to say, but I truly can’t believe how fast she’s growing.
