Monthly Roundup: April Favorites

April has been a lovely month in many ways, and also very challenging. The weather has been beautiful lately and it really makes me excited for summer, long evenings, beach days, and drinking iced coffee more often. This month I’ve also been navigating a lot of unknowns and trying my best to “roll with the punches” when things don’t go exactly as planned.

But, as with every month, there were some things that stood out as highlights. Here are a few of those things.

{ONE} The Paradise trilogy by Elin Hilderbrand

I’ll talk more about this next week in my Books I Read in April post, but I finished the third book in The Paradise trilogy by Elin Hilderbrand. I really enjoyed reading the series set in the Virgin Islands and getting to know the main characters better and better with each book.

{TWO} Insanity

I started the Insanity! workout challenge again, which is great and tough at the same time. It’s a 60-day high-intensity interval training program created by Beach Body/BODi and led by Shaun T. I’ve done it before and it pushed my limits and definitely increased my endurance and strength. It’s been tricky fitting in the hour-long workouts along with everything else, but I’m determined to finish it by the end of May.

{THREE} Easter

We celebrated Easter this month and got together with family that we haven’t spent quality time with for months. It was Vienna’s first Easter and I created a little Easter basket for her that consisted of a few books to add to her ever-growing collection. She loves when I read to her and I love it! I wanted to match/coordinate our outfits, so her dress was from Target and mine was from Amazon. It was super comfortable, true-to-size, and I can’t wait to wear it again this summer.

{FOUR} Spring Break

One of the benefits of working in higher education is getting a spring break. We all look forward to a week off and it just so happened to land during the week when it was in the 80s and sunny EVERY DAY. It was perfect. I didn’t do too much, but I did finish a few organization projects around the house, take neighborhood walks, spend quality time with Vi, and explore a few new hobbies just for the fun of it.
