Embracing All the Fall Feels š
If youāve been a reader for a while or this is your first post (hi, welcome!), you may or may not know that Iām a huge (huge) fan of fall.
Itās basic, I know, but to be specific, Iām a huge (huge) fan of October.
As I was writing this post, it felt very familiar. I realized I wrote a similar one last October around this same time detailing all the things I love about fall. It goes to show that it really is my favorite season!
This week the weather got chillier and I put on a real fall outfit for the first time this season and it got me in the mood to talk about fall favorites.
So, without further ado, here are a few of my fall favorites to help you embrace the fall feels.
{ONE} Fall decor
Itās an obvious one, but one of my favorite things to do is decorate our house for each season. Fall and Christmas are my favorite times to do it. We recently purchased a variety of pumpkins and mums to decorate our porches, planters, and patio. I actually donāt mind that some of our mums havenāt fully bloomed. Itāll be fun to see the colors really pop one of these days!
{TWO} Salted Caramel or Pumpkin Spice Lattes at home
ļ»æMy coffee order changes each season but this year, Iām staying home a lot more so I havenāt gone to coffee shops as often as Iād like to. This means that 99.99% of the time, Iām making coffee at home. I donāt have fancy coffee machines or utensilsā¦just a super cute teal Keurig that I love. So imagine my excitement when the other day at Aldi I found Salted Caramel and Pumpkin Spice K-Cups! I stocked up, of course, because these are the two flavors that epitomize fall for me. Sure, itās not a fancy latte, but a salted caramel coffee with a dash of cinnamon is just as lovely in the morning. Plus it makes going to coffee shops once in a while even more special!
{THREE} Plants and Pumpkins Galore
We have so many plants in our house itās crazy. We are definitely those crazy plant people with succulents and plants in every room. And you know what? I LOVE it. It brings tons of color and life into our space and fall is the time where we really go all out. We buy mums and pumpkins and little succulents to add to our collection. All of the outdoor plants come indoors for the cold months and it feels like we live in a greenhouse sometimes. For additional plant inspiration, I also try to visit Terrain at least once every fall because itās just so beautiful and aesthetic. I mean, look at all those white pumpkins!
{FOUR} Candles
At night and on weekends in our house, there is usually a candle burning. Iām not a huge fan of the sweet, fake scents like cakes or flowers. Anything cinnamon- or apple-scented is an automatic win for us.
{FIVE} Books
Whatās a fall favorites list without including books? I love a good cozy night in with a good book. I typically opt for mystery or suspense in the fall. I usually leave romance and light reads for the summer. Anyone else choose books to go with the season? If youāre looking for a good book this fall, check out my Bookshelf for inspiration.
{SIX} Nail polish
Fall calls for all the dark, moody nail polish colors. I typically gravitate towards dark reds, pinks, or neutrals.
{SEVEN} Leopard print
Fall is the time I bust out my leopard-printed clothes, shoes, and accessories. To me, leopard print kind of acts like a neutral and Iāll definitely plan an entire outfit around my leopard shoes. I purchased this leopard cardigan (pictured below) a few weeks ago and the outfit ideas are endless.
A few other leopard faves from my closet include:
Leopard shirt from Old Navy (pair with jeans and a colored leather jacket for a relaxed weekend look)
Leopard swing dress from Old Navy (dress up with heels or dress down with a long cardigan and flats)
Leopard sneakers (received these as a Christmas gift and love pairing them with an all-black outfit)
Leopard ballet flats (these are similar ones ā pair these with jeans, a mustard cardigan, and some stripes for a classic fall outfit)
{EIGHT} Comfort Foods
I think one of the main things people think about when itās fall is comfort food. I love making soups, stews, breads, and other cozy meals during the fall. This year, I created a list of āmust make mealsā so I donāt forget!
