Gift Ideas for Your Pet

Blogmas Day 7

Listen, I know this is a bit cringy.

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be writing a blog post talking about gift ideas for your pet, I would think you’d lost your mind.

Yet here we are. If 2020 has taught me one thing, it’s to never say never.

Because here we are, and here I am, excited to share some pet gift ideas as part of Blogmas.

One of the major highlights of this year was getting Lucy and I’d be lying if I said I haven’t become that person who takes a billion pictures of her dog and posts them on Instagram. (Also, Lucy has an Instagram so go follow, s’il vous plait). All year I’ve been looking forward to Christmas for many reasons, but one being that it’s Lucy’s first Christmas and obviouslyyyy that means we have to get her gifts. She IS part of the fam after all.

So here are some ideas for your pet if you, too, are that dog (or cat) parent who buys gifts for their beloved animal. (There’s no judgement here.)

{ONE} Central Perk Coffee Mug Chew Toy

Because if you’re a Friends fan and have a dog (or cat), then you need this. I bought it for Lucy and she absolutely loves it. Seriously, it’s her favorite toy and it cracks me up because it looks like she’s just chilling with a giant cup of coffee all day.

{TWO} Bandana from Pink Salt Creatives

I mentioned Pink Salt Creatives in my Support Small Gift Guide, but ICYMI, they sell the cutest dog bandanas on Etsy. I recently purchased the Merry Christmas bandana and it is such a cute addition to Lucy’s little diva dog wardrobe.

{THREE} Sweaters

Now that we’re entering the winter months, sweaters are a must if your pet goes outside a lot. I swore I’d never buy sweaters for Lucy but now that we have a few of them, it makes me feel less guilty when we have to go outside to let her do her, um… business. Plus she loves them. She literally barks at them until she has one on and then prances around happily.

{FOUR} Treats

You can never go wrong with getting some good ol’ treats. I’d much rather Lucy chew on treats than our socks, thank you very much.

{FIVE} New bed

Perhaps your pet needs a new bed. This is the perfect time to replace the old, chewed up stuff with newer, cleaner things.

{SIX} Barkbox

You can also give the gift of Barkbox, which is literally one of the coolest concepts for pet owners. It’s a subscription toy and treats box that is sent to your house monthly. Lucy received her first Barkbox earlier this month and it is SO cool. It was Dogsgiving themed so besides some treats, it came with toys shaped like mac and cheese, a turkey leg, an oven mit, and an apron. How cute!

{SEVEN} Furbo

We don’t have this but I’ve heard so many good things! My sister-in-law got this one year and it looks like so much fun. It’s basically a dog camera that links to a phone app so you can send your dog treats and check in with them when you’re away from home. So fun!
