Silly Stories with Luke
GUYS.
I’m so excited for this blog post. This week I was having an off week, writing-wise, and when I expressed how I was feeling to Luke (my amazing husband), he said, “I’ll write a post for you!”
I thought he was kidding, I really did. And I think he was, at first, but then I said “Okay! What will it be about?”
Luke replied, “You’ll see,” and disappeared for a few hours writing the below short story.
He’s the real MVP! I honestly might try to convince him to make “Silly Stories with Luke” a reoccurring series on here. Shout out to those who get the reference ;) Enjoy!
Silly Stories with Luke
The part of the blog where Luke comes out and writes a silly story.
Buzz… Buzz… Buzz… BUZZ…. BUZZZZZZ….. BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!! THWAPT!!!!! That was the sound of Francis the Frog eating his fifth alarm that morning. He rolled over on his leaf bed and continued to dream of catching butterflies in the meadow.
“FRANCIS!!!!!!” his mother croaked. “You’re going to be late for school!”
Francis suddenly awoke and hopped out of bed. He couldn't believe he had slept through his alarms again. He ran across the room to get ready. He quickly shoved his school books into his backpack and sprinted down the tree to the kitchen. His dad, Tom Toad, was sitting at the stump, which was their table, sipping some tea and reading the daily news.
“Whoa! Slow down there, sport!” said Tom. “Nature never rushes, yet everything gets done.”
Francis didn’t have time for his dad’s silly sayings. He was going to be late for school. He leaped from his tree house and started making his way down the forest path. Francis hop-skipped his way to the lake where he attended school at Woodland High.
Francis loved Woodland High! To him, it was the greatest school in the whole forest. He got to hang out with his friends and learn new things about the forest. His favorite teacher was Mr. Whoo. The old owl could answer any question Francis had.
Francis Frog approached the lake and spotted his friend, Sally Salamander, waving to him. Sally had saved Francis a spot next to their favorite boulder.
Francis thought Sally was a clever salamander but he always thought it was funny that she was constantly sleepy during class. For some reason, Sally’s family stays up all night and sleeps during the day. Francis thought that was the weirdest thing to do. One time Sally tried to explain it to him and used this big word, “nocturnal,” whatever that means.
“Hi, Francis,” Sally yawned.
“Hey, Sally!” Francis replied. “Did Mr. Whoo start class yet?”
“Not yet,” Sally said as she struggled to keep her eyes open. “Did you have any trouble with your homework last night? I couldn’t figure out the answer to number 24 on the math worksheet.”
Francis’ heart dropped. He forgot to do his homework the night before. When he got home last night, he turned on the television and was distracted by a new show called Love is Blind, a dating show for moles.
At that moment, Mr. Whoo landed next to Sally and Francis.
“Helloooo, students! I’m here to collect your homework.”
Sally handed over her papers but Francis looked up at Mr. Whoo with a worried look on his face.
Nervously he said, “I’m sorry, Mr. Whoo. I forgot to do my homework last night.”
The wise owl peered down at Francis with his big blue eyes and said, “Mr. Francis, remember, much good work is lost for the lack of a little more.”
The end.
