Shop Small: 10 Small Businesses to Check Out Right Now

Shop small_coffeewithkeri.png

One of the things I’ve come to cherish during this time is shopping small. AKA, supporting small businesses.

Last week I shared some of the things we’ve purchased during this time of social distancing, and one of the things mentioned was purchasing used books off of Amazon from thrift stores and smaller bookstores.

This past week I was thinking of how this time is impacting businesses, especially small ones. Just this week I found out a cafe in our city is closing its doors for good because of this time, and it made my heart hurt. Then I started to realize how many of my friends own their own small businesses. And it gave me the idea.

I want to share them with you.

Alice Joyeuse’s Essential Oils

If you are interested in essential oils and clean living, my sister-in-law Alice is your go-to girl. She recently started selling essential oils after loving them for a few years. I’ve learned so much about the benefits of essential oils through her Instagram Stories and I invite you to check our her Instagram if you’re interested. If you’re ready to enroll as a Member, here’s her referral link!

Lucas Mark Productions

Yep, my husband is a freelance photographer and videographer! In his words, “here’s a taste of awesomeness.”

Leah P Studio

My girl Leah is so incredibly talented. We worked together at a digital agency for several years and she recently started Leah P Studio to share her talents with the world. She designs custom cards, art prints, stickers and more. Here is Leah P Studio’s Instagram account and you can check out her whole line of products on her Etsy shop! (Peep the Father’s Day card for the upcoming day on June 21, just sayin’.)

American Martial Arts Institute

Fun fact: Luke’s family owns a martial arts studio! They’re all black belts (yep, real-life superheroes) and super talented. Although I personally have never taken a kung fu class at American Martial Arts Institute (AMAI), I’ve loved taking their combat fitness and workout classes. Even if you don’t live in Delaware, you can still support them by joining AMAI’s daily workout livestreams on Facebook, which features everything from stretching and yoga to core strength and cardio.

Art by Mckayla

My friend Mckayla recently created stickers and they are so cute. I’ve known Mckayla since we were little and I just love her bright and beachy aesthetic. She has so many cute digital prints on her Art by Mckayla Instagram, too.

MARKINC Ministries

My aunt and uncle started MARKINC Ministries over 25 years ago. MARKINC produces resources that teach about the sovereignty and faithfulness of God through the sharing of redemptive stories, lessons, books, videos, blog posts, and more. Check them out on Facebook.

Photographers

I have several friends who are amazing photographers. You’ve probably heard me mention Stacy Hart Photography multiple times on this blog. That’s because she was our wedding photographer and did such an incredible job! She also did our engagement photos (shameless plug to check them out here!)

A few other photographer friends who are incredibly talented and worth checking out are Jenny B Photography, United and Free Photography, and Shot By Nehemiah.
