How Spring Break's Going So Far
This week has been amazing. I’m not even going to sugar coat it.
One of the perks of working in higher education is that faculty and staff also get a spring break with the students. This past week was our spring break and I’m not even going to lie, I’ve been looking forward to it since Christmas.
The closer spring break came, the more excited I felt. In true Keri fashion, I wrote a “Spring Break To-Do List” that consisted of a few house projects and fun things I wanted to accomplish.
In not-so-Keri fashion, the rest of my days were completely open.
So what has spring break consisted of? Let me show you.
{ONE} Balayage Refresh
First thing’s first: a much-needed haircut and balayage refresh! I like to get balayage a few times a year and I decided to go a little lighter for spring. Here’s a little before and after (gotta love those car selfies!)
{TWO} Reading (and going to bookstores)
My grandfather wrote a memoir!!! He wrote it last year and gave me my very own copy of it this past weekend. I absolutely love it and will treasure it always. It’s been beautiful weather this week so I’ve been reading outside, drinking my coffee, and watching Lucy run around the yard.
I also am a huge fan of strolling through bookstores so one of the days this week, I grabbed a coffee and browsed the aisles of Barnes & Noble. It is my happy place.
{THREE} Seeing a movie IN THEATERS
It’s been over a year since I’ve seen a movie in theaters, and let me tell you, it was amazing. Luke, my brother Josh, my mom, and I all had a day off one day this week so we decided to see Godzilla v. Kong. It was one of the only movies in theaters right now but it was actually pretty good!
{FOUR} Working on my office makeover
I know I keep hinting at this, but I promise I’m almost done! Just a few more tweaks and it’ll be ready for the blog. Below is a little sneak peek to hold you over!
{FIVE} Working out in the middle of the day
I’m not going to lie, I love working out in the middle of the day. Usually I go in the evening but I love it when the gym is empty and I can workout with hardly anyone there.
{SIX} Writing papers
It’s all fun and games until you realize you have homework due after spring break! The grind doesn’t stop!
{SEVEN} Clothing declutter and spring wardrobe swap
Swapping over wardrobes is a pretty big task that I was so excited to tackle over spring break. I love refreshing my closet and getting it prepped for warmer weather. It’s also an opportunity to declutter and remove anything that I haven’t worn in a year or won’t wear again. Does it spark joy? If not, it goes!
{EIGHT} Catching up on misc. tasks
Besides reading, relaxing, and doing some spring cleaning, I’ve been using this week to catch up on miscellaneous tasks around the house and on my computer. It feels good knowing that some long-awaited to-dos are finally getting checked off!
