Welcome To My Home Office

Today’s the day! I’ve been teasing my home office update for so long and it’s time to finally share it with you!

I SO wish I took before photos. I am kicking myself for not snapping pics but imagine this: a beige wall. Nothing on it. A white desk placed where, when you sat down to work, you faced the aforementioned beige, blank wall.

There ya go. That was the Before. Literally anything could improve that set up. It could only go up from there.

I’ve been working from home for over a year now so this project has been a long time coming. Around Christmas, I said, “That’s it! I can’t stare at this beige wall ANYMORE.”

So I pulled up Pinterest, pinned things that sparked joy, and slowly but surely worked towards creating a space that was bright, inspiring, and, of course, coffee-themed.

Pink and white are my “brand” colors so I knew that pink would be my accent color, no question about it. When I found this pink office chair on Facebook marketplace for $20 (!!!) I had to get it immediately. Although it was brand new from Wayfair, the person selling it didn’t want it anymore. Fine by me!

From there, it was a bit of a snowball effect. I painted the wall pink and asked for a mini pink Keurig for Christmas (it’s from Target). Necessary? No. Does it spark joy? ABSOLUTELY.

Although I love my desk (I purchased it a few years ago from Wayfair), it doesn’t have tons of storage, just a few drawers and that’s it. I figured a skinny set of drawers would do the trick (plus act as a coffee station for my Keurig). The ALEX drawers from Ikea are super popular on Pinterest so I kept seeing them everywhere. I was trying not to be basic and buy them, but I don’t regret it one bit. Plus the drawers were easy to assemble! (Shout out to Luke for actually putting them together.)

At that point, I thought my office was complete. But something was missing. It didn’t seem finished.

Then I found this gold board on Amazon and knew it would be perfect hanging above my desk. I wanted to hang up my wall calendar to free up desk space so it was perfect. It came in a pack of two, but I just needed one. To be determined what I do with the other one!

Throughout the process, I had been searching for something that I could purchase to support a small business. When I found this coffee & books print on Etsy, I knew it was the perfect finishing touch to my home office! It looks like I themed the entire office based on the print, but it was in fact the opposite! Coffee AND books AND pink? Meant. To. Be. I purchased a gold 18x24 frame from Target, hung up the print, and voila!

The office was DONE!

It wouldn’t be a home office post without mentioning a few of my work-from-home must-haves. I wrote a whole post about my favorite work-from-home essentials, but here are a few things you’ll find on my desk.
