5 Simple Ways to Embrace All the Cozy Vibes This Fall

It’s no surprise I love this time of year.

The chilly weather, the changing leaves, the brisk air. Fall creates the perfect backdrop to embrace all the cozy vibes.

This fall looks a bit different for me. As we inch closer to December, my energy levels are not what they once were. I waddle. I take breaks in between tasks to catch my breath. I opt for much looser clothing because my favorite sweaters don’t fit right now. As the season is changing, so is my life stage and I’m learning to adjust and accept that I can’t do all the things I usually do each autumn.

The reality is for me, this fall means slowing down, enjoying the little things, and embracing all the cozy vibes. As much as I’d love to be bopping around and doing allll of the fall activities, that isn’t the case this year. And that’s okay! If you, too, are looking for ways to slow down and fully enjoy this fall season, look no further. Here are 5 simple ways to embrace all the cozy vibes this fall.

{ONE} Make something delicious in the kitchen.

I love Pinterest and tend to pin lots of recipes to my Keri’s Kitchen board. The thing is, I typically forget about these recipes and don’t go back to make them. This month I’ve been taking a Saturday or Sunday afternoon to make a meal that can be enjoyed for a few days. It’s a slow and therapeutic way to 1) make our house smell amazing, 2) use up ingredients from our fridge, and 3) meal prep for the week ahead.

Soups are cozy and easy to make, so I’ve been gravitating towards ones that are full of flavor and on the healthier side. I highly recommend these if you are interested:

If you’re more of a breads and breakfast person, here are a few recipes I’ve tried and loved:

{TWO} Read a favorite novel or try a new title you’ve been eyeing.

It’s no secret that I love to read. My TBR (to-be-read) list is always growing and won’t be getting smaller anytime soon. One way I’ve been embracing the cozy vibes this fall is curling up with a book in the evenings under a blanket (usually with Lucy sleeping next to me). Bonus points if there is tea or hot chocolate involved. It’s a simple joy that helps me unwind from the day without having to look at a screen.

{THREE} Set the vibe.

It seems redundant to say “set the vibe” under ways to embrace the coziness of fall. But alas, here we are. Some ways to do this include lighting a candle, turning down the lights, and/or listening to jazz or lo-fi music. Depending on the atmosphere you’re trying to create, here are two playlists that I love for the fall.

{FOUR} Sip your favorite beverage.

Whether that’s tea, hot chocolate, or coffee, a warm drink can do wonders for helping you embrace all the cozy vibes. I’ve been gravitating towards hot coffee in the mornings and warm tea with honey in the evenings. You don’t have to be a coffee lover to enjoy this cozy ritual (but I definitely recommend at least trying it 😉).

{FIVE} Take time to enjoy the beauty of fall.

Whether it’s decorating your home with pumpkins and mums or going somewhere that sells them and simply walking around, take a moment to embrace the season and all it has to offer. One of my favorite places near me is Terrain, a beautiful garden center and cafe. It always has the most stunning seasonal displays of pumpkins and plants. It is definitely a must-stop place every fall for me.
