Monthly Roundup: November Favorites

Oh my, November. It felt like we’d never get here, and yet, here we are wrapping up the month and getting ready for December (a.k.a., Baby month!)

I mentioned a few of these November favorites in last week’s post (10+ Things On My Mind This Week), so apologies if some of this is redundant.

As I write this, it’s the night before Thanksgiving, and you will read this on Black Friday. It’s the season for being grateful and a much-needed reminder to be thankful all year ‘round, not just during this week. At the end of this blog post, I’m sharing a few things I’m thankful for this year, and I hope you take a moment to create your own list, too.

{ONE} Decorating and prepping for Christmas.

I’m not a “decorate for Christmas on November 1” gal, but I love decorating in mid-November so we can enjoy the coziness for more than just a few weeks. I’ve been slowly buying Christmas gifts for the last few months, but I made a lot of progress this month to get ready for the holidays. A few of my favorite things about decorating and prepping for Christmas this year:

  • Drinking my first Starbucks holiday drink of the season (my fave is Peppermint Mocha, but the Caramel Brulee is a close second).

  • Watching Elf and The Santa Clause while decorating our tree.

  • Finding a stocking for our Baby Girl.

  • Helping my mom decorate my childhood home for Christmas (the tradition continues!)

  • The coziness of cold nights curled up by the tree with a book, hot chocolate, and a warm blanket.

{TWO} Nursery prep.

Now that the guest room and home office makeover is pretty much done (check out the reveal here!), we’ve shifted focus to getting the nursery ready to go. My mom came over one day this month to help me put away miscellaneous baby things and organize the clothes by size and it was SO helpful. I love how the room is coming together. Luke hung up the curtains this week and it really brought the vision to life. Just a few more final touches and it’ll be ready for Baby Girl (and to share on the blog!)

{THREE} Taylor Swift’s album, Midnights.

I’m not a Swiftie by any means, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Midnights and the absolute MADNESS that came with people trying to get tickets to Taylor’s “Eras” tour. Although I’ve been listening to mostly just Christmas music this month, I have been taking breaks here and there to listen to Midnights, and I have to say, it really is a great album.

{FOUR} This pajamas set from Amazon.

I’ve been slowly growing out of my pajamas as the bump gets bigger. I quickly ordered this plaid pajamas set on Amazon the other day out of desperation when I realized my favorite pair of pajamas pants is not accommodating the bump anymore. I purposed sized up in this set since I don’t like super tight loungewear. It is so comfortable and I know it’ll be a staple once Baby arrives, as well.

{FIVE} My hospital bag.

I ordered this bag as my hospital bag since I realized I don’t have a weekender bag that would work. We have giant suitcases, but no small duffles, so when I found this bag on Amazon, it was an automatic purchase for me. I’ve been slowly packing my bag, and I am already impressed by how much this thing holds! I know I’ll definitely use it moving forward and am happy with this Amazon find.

{SIX} My thankful list.

This week, I’ve been reminded more than ever by how much there is to be thankful for this year. I know it sounds cliche, but I am just so thankful for all that God has done in my life: the good, the bad, and the ugly. It’s all part of His plan, and I am so thankful for it. Here are a few things I’m thankful for:

  • Luke. He’s an incredible husband who has truly been the real MVP this year. He’s been patient, helpful, supportive, and is already the best Daddy to our little girl.

  • Working from home and an awesome team. I love what I do and who I work with; I am blessed!

  • My incredible family.

  • My amazing friends.

  • Lucy, the sweetest and best dog ever.

  • Feeling Baby Girl kick and seeing her via ultrasounds every week.

  • Our home and the memories we continue to create here.

  • My church and church family.

  • The days where I wake up and can actually drink coffee.

  • Pretzels and Raspberry La Croix.

  • Sunny days, fresh air, and the hint of winter coming.

  • The ability to walk and move around (even if it’s a bit slower these days!)
