Baby Girl's Nursery Reveal

Blogmas day 9

I am thrilled to finally share Baby Girls’s nursery with you! As of today, I’m officially less than ONE WEEK from her due date, so she could be here at any time!

The nursery took over my old office, which may be familiar since I talked all about my pink office makeover here. Once we tackled our guest room & home office makeover, it was time to focus on getting the nursery ready. It was so fun dreaming up the space, finding the perfect pieces, and seeing my “vision” for the room come to life.

I have spent so much time in here already organizing her clothes, reading through her books, and sitting in the chair praying for her and eagerly anticipating her arrival.

When I found out I was having a girl, I knew I wanted to create a space that she could grow into. I didn’t want to have a typical nursery “theme” or make it feel like a baby’s room. Obviously there are many baby things in it, but the basic elements of the room can grow with her (the rug, the color of the walls, the blackout curtains, and the dresser, to name a few).

  • Crib - DaVinci 4-in-1 Convertible Crib in White

  • Rug - Purchased from a friend (thank you, Emily!) but originally from Ruggable

  • Dresser - Bob’s Discount Furniture Outlet (a steal that I still can’t believe we stumbled upon!)

  • Blackout curtains (Amazon)

  • Glider & ottoman - A gift from Luke’s mom (thank you!!) but from Amazon

The Dresser

We purchased the dresser from Bob’s Discount Furniture Outlet and it was such a find; I still can’t believe we stumbled upon it for the price we got it for! I fell in love with the curved drawers and glass pulls and knew it was the perfect, elegant touch that the nursery needed.

I opted to not buy a changing table so that the dresser can serve multiple purposes as she gets older. For now, I put a changing pad on top, complete with a framed photo of one of her first ultrasound pics, a Hatch sound machine, and diffuser.

I registered for and received drawer organizers for my baby shower (thank you, Natalie!!) and they are amazing. I highly recommend registering for them if you can. Mom and I had fun organizing and labeling all of Baby’s clothes by size and even proactively creating outfits that I can grab and use when I’m sleep deprived. (Future Keri is going to love this!)

Since Baby’s clothes are obviously quite small for now, not all the drawers are filled with clothes. Most of them hold lots (and lots) of diapers, wipes, diapering products, socks & mittens, and other miscellaneous things.

Above the dresser, I hung the bow and headband/wrap organizer. Baby Girl already has so many bows and headbands and it makes me happy! I can’t wait to accessorize all of her outfits with the perfect bow or headband/wrap. (Also, peep the Dunkin headwrap. Adorable, right?! Thanks, Claudia!)

The reading corner

This corner of the room will definitely not just be “the reading corner,” as I know I’ll be spending many nights rocking Baby Girl in this chair. But, as you know, I’m a huge reader and want my daughter to grow up loving books as much as I did/do. At my baby shower, a lot of guests gifted me books instead of cards, and I love that there are so many books waiting to be read from people who mean the world to us.

Eventually, my goal is to have a bookshelf or storage of some kind. Right now, though, a rolling cart from Michael’s holds them all and it’s perfect!

Also, I wanted to call out my “cart on the go,” which is stocked with diapers, wipes, burp cloths, and other essentials. This cart will most likely follow me all around the house during the day and be stationed by our bed at night while Baby's sleeping in our room. I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it was a great way to keep essentials close-by without having to walk up and down stairs all day grabbing things from the nursery.

P.S. That beautiful blanket you see in the photo? My friend Chelsea knitted that! Thank you!!

The Crib

The crib is probably my favorite part of this nursery. The crib was the first thing we purchased for the nursery and it is a “happy accident” that the curved features of the crib match the curved edges of the dresser! It’s also a convertible crib that can be adjusted and resized to a toddler bed to accommodate Baby Girl as she gets older.

Luke is a huge Avatar fan and purchased Appa, Baby’s first stuffed animal. For now we also have a basket with a few stuffed animals and dolls that I received at my baby shower. I know Baby Girl is going to love them as she gets older!

A week or so ago I was sitting in the nursery and realized that the room needed artwork. I racked my brain for what would complement the room without clashing with the rug, crib sheets, and overall “vibe” of the space. When I came across the three-piece artwork on Etsy, I knew it was the perfect finishing touch. We ordered the digital prints to be printed on canvas instead of frames (for safety reasons, and for aesthetic purposes, too). I absolutely love that Baby Girl will have Scripture above her as she sleeps. The middle print says “You are a Child of God. You are wonderfully made, dearly loved, and precious in His sight. Psalm 139.” Psalm 139 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible, and I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that the artwork I fell in love with highlights it so beautifully.

I love how the nursery turned out, and I am so excited that I finally got to share it with you. Now we wait until Baby Girl arrives!!
