Monthly Roundup: July Books & Favorites

This summer is flying by and I feel like I’m trying to make it slowww down and it simply is speeding up. We’ve been loving all the best parts of summer, like long evenings, lots of outside time, and embracing the “no routine routine” vibe that summer brings. We recently returned from a trip so I haven’t had a chance to reflect on July, but here are a few favorites and books I read last month.

{ONE} Lost is on Netflix

I’ve never seen Lost and was craving a show that Luke and I could watch together. When we saw it’s on Netflix, we decided to give it a shot (I know, I know… we’re literally decades behind) and it is so good. We’re on season two and have to remind ourselves not to watch it too quickly or else it’ll be over before we know it.

{TWO} Baby hip seat carrier

We just returned from a trip to Florida and oh my goodness, this baby hip seat carrier was a lifesaver at the airport. We didn’t bring a stroller and this thing changed the game for traveling with a toddler. It’s only $28 and worth every penny.

{THREE} Beach days

We finally had our first beach days of the summer in July! We took a few day trips and although relaxing days reading on the beach are long gone for now, we still had a blast exploring the beach through Vienna’s eyes. She loves the water and building sand castles, and had a blast jumping in the water and watching the birds fly by. One of the times we stopped by a coffee shop near the beach called Station on Kings. It was so cute and their lattes are delicious!

{FOUR} Popsicles

A summer staple, popsicles are definitely a favorite around here. Vienna loves them and I’ve decided that I’m going to be “that mom” and say “yes” whenever she asks for one (within reason, of course). Childhood summer feels incomplete without staple snacks like popsicles and it’s such a nostalgic way to beat the heat.

{FIVE} Books I Read in July

Instead of writing a separate post about the books I read in July, I’m tacking them on here. I read four great books last month:

  1. Never LieFreida McFadden (4/5 stars)

  2. Tiny Humans, Big Emotions — Alyssa Black Campbell (3/5 stars)

  3. Funny Story — Emily Henry (5/5 stars) (SO GOOD!!)

  4. How to Walk Into a Room: The Art of Knowing When to Stay and When to Walk Away — Emily P. Freeman (3.5/5 stars)
