Quarantine Highlights (So Far)
Last week I tried to be as candid as possible about how I’m feeling about the whole quarantine/social distancing situation.
I received a lot of positive feedback on that blog post and I’m very thankful for your encouragement. We are in this together!
Since publishing that blog post, I began thinking of all the positive things that have happened because of social distancing so I wanted to share them with you here.
We got a puppy.
I’ve already mentioned Lucy a few times on this blog (and she has her own Instagram account!) but one of the highlights/favorites of this quarantine situation has been bonding with my puppy BFF, Lucy.
I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen.
I’m not at all an expert in the kitchen. I can follow a recipe but I can’t whip things up from scratch. I’ve been wanting to bake and cook more in general and am using this time as an opportunity to try things out. Besides chocolate chip cookies (a staple in our house), I also baked banana bread for the first time. A few other foods we’ve made together are homemade pretzel bites, minestrone soup, penne, and bread.
I created a house binder.
It’s been on my 101 in 1,001 days list and I decided to finally sit down and tackle it. I created a house binder! It took me a few hours but the first phase is complete. I created subsections for different categories and put documents into page protectors. To learn more about what a house binder is, check out Carly the Prepster’s post here.
We painted a few rooms.
When we moved into our home, the entire house was a dark beige-ish brown. It wasn’t pretty and slowly but surely, we’ve repainted the whole house to be a brighter off-white. That is, except for the upstairs bathroom and a guest room. We had been procrastinating those two rooms given the complexity of all the angles and cutting in that would need to happen. Thankfully, I can now say they’re brighter and prettier!
We binged a few shows.
Love is Blind, Tiger King, and The Office… to name a few.
I’ve read some books.
You can check out the books I read in March here, and have been slowly pushing through a few more this month.
