10+ Things On My Mind This Week

It’s been a minute since I’ve written a 10+ Things On My Mind This Week post (the last one was in March!). Truly, I couldn’t decide what I wanted to write about this week; there is a lot going on right now and my brain feels like I have 100 tabs open at once! So, here are 10+ things on my mind this week (or, at least the first 10+ things that came to mind when I sat down to write this blog post).

*Disclaimer: Some of these things mention pregnancy and baby-related things.

My new 101 in 1,001 Days List is live! I’m so excited to share that my new 101 in 1,001 Days List is up on the blog. I will admit, it was a bit challenging to think of 101 things this time around, but I’m so excited about the challenge and look forward to checking some things off in the coming months.

Spotify playlists are a staple in my morning routine. Whether I’m working, writing, or doing odds and ends around the house, I love listening to music, podcasts, or audiobooks. The Spotify playlists that have been on repeat lately are Calm Mornings (my go-to playlist in the morning), Chill Lofi Study Beats (perfect for writing because none have lyrics), and GOTG (Gals on the Go) jams.

Home office/guest room makeover. Because we have to swap rooms to change my home office into the nursery, we’re taking the opportunity to rethink the home office/guest room. I’ll do an entire blog post about this once it’s done, but transforming the space into a cozy, yet productive, room in our house has been a fun challenge. Luke has been hard at work tearing down molding, spackling, and planning the upgrades, so it’s become a bigger project than I think either of us intended it to be, but it’ll be worth it in the end.

Nursery decor inspo. I told myself I would never create a pink nursery if I had a girl. HA. Yeah…about that. The nursery is going to be pink (and white and gold). Mostly because my home office is already pink, so why go painting it again, you know? That’s what I’m telling myself, anyways. Here are some of the inspiration pics I’ve found that I love. We’ll see what it actually ends up looking like (and of course I’ll blog all about it).

I’m on the hunt for baby registry must-haves. I’m 22 weeks pregnant and I’ve officially started my baby registry (!!!). About time. I am realizing there are so many things you can get. SO MANY THINGS. Who knew!? So I’m open to any suggestions or recommendations people have of things to include besides the obvious essentials. Please let me know what you’ve loved because I trust you guys!

(Also, there are so many cute baby clothes. I am so excited.)

I’m ready to be in vacation mode. Luke and I are going to the beach for a few days soon and I am so excited. We’ve gone to the beach a few times this summer, but not nearly as much as this beach girl would like. I’ve ordered a few maternity bathing suits on Amazon that will come this weekend since the bump is growing, so I’m excited to see which ones are worth the hype. Also, I’m saving Every Summer After by Carley Fortune to read at the beach and I cannot wait.

My Bloom planners have been life savers lately. Between doctor appointments, social activities, and everything in between, I’ve been living in my Bloom planners lately. Everything I do or need to remember goes in either my Vision Planner (this is the one I have) or my Pregnancy planner (this is the one I have). I’ve always been a huge fan of Bloom, but I have a whole new appreciation for their products now that 1) my brain is mush by 4 p.m. and 2) my to-do list has expanded ten-fold. Add their productivity and pregnancy sticker packs to the mix and not only have I stayed organized lately, but my planners also look cute while doing it!

Mental shift. This may be triggering to some, but I’ve been going through a mental shift about my health while pregnant. As the bump grows, I know my body was made for this and it’s wild to know there’s a human being living, breathing, and growing like a weed inside of me. It’s truly a miracle and I’m so thankful for it…but, I would be lying if I said it hasn’t been challenging me mentally when it comes to my physical appearance and self-talk.

I’ve realized that both things can be true: I can be so excited and amazed by this growing daughter of mine while struggling with accepting my ever-changing self. Pregnancy comes with a lot of changes: I’m exhausted more easily, my workouts are not as intense as they were before, my favorite clothes are packed away, my hormones are everywhere, and simple things take more effort to do. It’s easy to beat myself up about all the changes, but I’m also trying to be gentle on myself and realize that it’s all necessary for this season of life.

I know it’s too early to say this, but I’m looking forward to Fall. I know, I know. August is not fall time, but as we near closer to the season, my brain can’t wait for the comfort of routine, coziness, and warmth. Call me basic, but there are a lot of things I love about fall, and although I am not ready for pumpkins right now, I am excited that it’s on its way.

I also know it’s way too early, but I’ve already started Christmas planning. In similar fashion, it’s too soon to be talking about the holidays. BELIEVE ME, I know. However, I’m due in December and I know the holidays this year are going to look way different than previous years, so I’m trying to plan accordingly. I’m in the very beginning stages of thinking about gifts and decorating because my goal is to be done all of that way earlier than before…mostly because while everyone is last-minute shopping, I’ll probably be pushing out a human. So if there’s anything I can do to make that whole season of life a bit easier on Future Keri, sign. me. up.
