Monthly Roundup: August Favorites
August slipped by and all of a sudden, I’m writing a monthly favorites blog post.
What is time? Why is it going by so quickly?
I’ll keep this short, since I shared a few favorites in my 10+ Things On My Mind This Week post earlier this month.
August was a blur of appointments, projects, checking things off, and trying to savor the last bits of summer before the craziness of fall. Here are a few of my monthly favorites.
Note: I do mention my pregnancy in Favorite #4.
{ONE} My new 101 in 1,001 Days List
I mentioned this briefly in a previous post, but I finished my new 101 in 1,001 Days List! I don’t expect to complete every item on the list, but it was a fun process brainstorming ideas for the next few years. Categories include Education, Career & Blog, Organization, Spiritual, Physical, Personal, Travel, Home, Motherhood & Baby (a new category!), and Just for Fun.
{TWO} My Custom Book Stamp
I’ve been thinking of purchasing a custom book stamp for a while now, and finally bit the bullet and ordered one from StampByMeStudio on Etsy! This is the one I got, and I am obsessed. It’s a unique and fun way to label your books, especially if you tend to let friends borrow them like I do. I ordered the self-inking stamp option since I didn’t want to have to worry about buying extra ink pads. I absolutely love it, and it’s a great gift for book lovers!
{THREE} Blue Rocks Game
We live near a minor league baseball stadium, yet we haven’t gone to a game in years. Enough was enough! We went to a Blue Rocks game with some family this month, and it was such a fun and wholesome afternoon. It was fun to be a “tourist” in our own city and enjoy the amenities in our own backyard (almost quite literally). Plus, it was something to check off my 101 in 1,001 Days list, so we’re already making progress!
{FOUR} 20-week Ultrasound
I’m 24 weeks this week (!!) which is crazy to think we’re more than halfway to meeting our daughter. I had my 20-week anatomy scan at the beginning of this month and it was so wild to see her flipping and squirming around. She is an active one already! My bump update pic above was taken earlier this month at 22 weeks…safe to say, she has officially POPPED!
{FIVE} Shower brushes from Amazon
I’ve been slowly but surely trying to make healthier, more eco-friendly swaps for products I use frequently. It’s a bit embarrassing to admit, but I loved using a loofah in the shower even though I know it’s not the best. I found these shower brush alternatives on Amazon and have been using them for a bit of time now. I love that these brushes are soft, don’t irritate my skin, and are a lot more sanitary than a loofah. Plus, they’re affordable and come in cute color options!
