10 Easy Ways to Cozy Up Your Life

It’s officially cozy season. The temps are dropping, which means lugging out your jackets, sweaters and boots. Although we’re not full-on in “bundle up” weather, summer days feel long gone and stores are pulling out the Christmas decor. (A bit early if you ask me!)

Nevertheless, adding more coziness to your life is never a bad idea. Better yet: You don’t have to spend tons of money to do it. Here are 10 easy ways to cozy up your life this fall:

  1. Incorporate soft lighting using warm-toned light bulbs, string lights, or candles. Pro tip: Choose a candle scent that invites cozy in, like cinnamon or vanilla.

  2. Bring out your fluffy blankets and pillows that are made for lounging.

  3. Make hot beverages. Coffee is a must, but tea and hot cocoa are great alternatives. Bonus: Set up a cozy drink station in your kitchen with your favorite mugs and drink toppings.

  4. Try baking and making comfort foods, like soups, bread, mac and cheese, stews, or cookies.

  5. Create a reading nook with a comfy chair (or couch), soft lighting, and a blanket.

  6. Listen to relaxing music like lo-fi beats or acoustic playlists.

  7. Bring the outdoors inside with houseplants, dried flowers, or pumpkins.

  8. Wear comfy clothes. Personally, I can’t completely relax and cozy up at home until I’m in my favorite leggings and oversized hoodie.

  9. Add rugs to hard floors to bring softness and texture to your space.

  10. Sometimes cozy means less clutter. Organize your space and get rid of anything that feels overwhelming.
