18 Random Things I'm Thankful For

This fall has been a season of plot twists, and I feel like I’m starting to wake up from the fog that was the last month or so.

I was sick for most of October with a nasty head cold/sinus congestion that is finally starting to go away. It really wiped me out. On top of the craziness that fall brings (with work, Luke’s schedule, and life in general), battling sickness was not ideal icing on the cake.

But then November entered the picture. I’m starting to feel better, the holiday season is around the corner, and even though it is dark and cold starting at 5 p.m., there is plenty to be thankful for.

This week I wanted to share some things I’m thankful for, so I can look back on this season and be reminded of God’s provisions no matter how small they might be.

  1. New childcare - We have a new part-time nanny/babysitter for Vienna. Transparently, going through the search process again felt daunting, but the right fit came into our lives at the perfect time. She finished her first week this week and it went smoothly and wonderfully! Vienna seems to be adjusting well, too, which is a huge answer to prayer.

  2. An incredible manager and co-workers.

  3. Coffee, especially during Daylight Savings.

  4. My Kindle!! (Yes, I joined the Kindle club and I love it so far.)

  5. Luke. His steady, patient demeanor balances my anxious tendencies, and I am so grateful.

  6. Vienna’s joy. She has the sweetest personality and is a genuinely joyful kid.

  7. Lucy. The best dog and patient “big sister” to Vienna.

  8. Family, near and far, and how much they care for and love Vienna.

  9. Friends who encourage me, point me to Jesus and lend a listening/empathetic ear when needed.

  10. Quiet mornings.

  11. Football and our family fantasy league haha. I didn’t see this coming, but competing in fantasy football this season has been so much fun.

  12. Banana bread.

  13. Cozy soups.

  14. Comfy lounge sets.

  15. Planning Vienna’s 2nd birthday party. (How is she going to be 2?!)

  16. Christmas decorations, planning, music, shopping — basically all things Christmas.

  17. Reading books with Vienna

  18. Finding amazing deals while thrifting.
