Monthly Roundup: April Favorites

Ah, the end of April. I am both excited and shocked that we’re already this far into 2021. Sometimes I look at the calendar and can’t understand how we got here. April specifically seemed to fly by in a blink of an eye.

If you missed it, Luke hacked my blog last week. A lot of you really enjoyed it so if you haven’t checked out his post, you can read it here: Hacked! By your friendly neighborhood Luke.

April was a fun one even though it seemed to speed past at 150 mph. Here are a few of my favorites from this month.

{ONE} Spring break

I can’t even lie. One of the perks of working in higher ed is spring break. I mentioned in my post, How Spring Break’s Going So Far, that I was counting down to it since Christmas. It was nice to take a step back from the screen and check some things off the good ol’ to-do list.

{TWO} Home office revamp

One of the tasks I completed over spring break was the home office revamp! I am THRILLED that it is finished. It truly makes a difference in my productivity and energy levels. Between work, school/homework, and writing for Coffee With Keri, I spend 90% of my days in the home office so anything to make it a brighter and more creative space to be in is greatly appreciated! Take a look at the full home office tour here: Welcome To My Home Office.

{THREE} Balayage

Getting a haircut and balayage literally makes my entire week. There’s something about feeling refreshed that puts me in a better headspace.

{FOUR} Bloom Planners spring launch

Y’all know I am a huge fan of Bloom Planners. This month they released their 2021-22 academic line of planners and accessories and I am obsessed. There are SO MANY cute patterns and a diverse selection of planner styles to fit your needs. I personally have my eye on this Daydream Believer Vision Planner and can’t wait to purchase it ASAP.

{FIVE} Pop Pop’s memoir

My grandfather wrote a memoir! I’m not going to talk about it for too long here since (spoiler alert) it’ll be in next week’s post! However, reading it was both an April favorite and a general favorite. I loved reading it. Pop Pop has been wanting to write one for a while and it’s so cool to see all his hard work come to life in a book!

{SIX} The end of my first grad class

The timing of Luke’s “blog post hack” could not have been anymore perfect. Last week and this week have been insane for me. My first grad school class ends this weekend so I’ve been in “heads-down”/grind mode trying to finish it all on top of working full-time and other commitments. Although it’s required a lot of time management and some late nights, I truly enjoyed taking the course and learned so much!

{SEVEN} Rainy night coffee shop ambience

This is a little random, but I have to share it with you. I recently discovered this eight-hour video of coffee shop ambience and I’m obsessed. It seems kind of silly, but I’ve been missing working in coffee shops so this is satisfying that need for now! When I need to focus and write, I play this video in the background (like right now!). It’s soothing and helps me stay focused on the task at hand. Highly recommend!

{EIGHT} Norah is here!

I saved the best for last. My sister-in-law had her baby this past weekend!! I am so excited to be Aunt Keri once again. Norah is absolutely beautiful and such a cutie with a full head of dark hair! I can’t wait to spoil her and buy her and Noli (her big sister) matching outfits!
