Monthly Roundup: February Favorites

Another month, another roundup.

As I mentioned a few times in recent blog posts, I struggled hard with winter blues this month. I shared 12 ways to beat the winter blues last week and 20 self-care ideas leading up to Valentine’s Day earlier this month. I had never really thought my mood was affected by the weather until this month, but I’m really looking forward to spring.

February was a month of snow, then 65-degree weather, then snow. AKA, a very confusing time for my sinuses. But, as we inch closer to spring, I’m excited to reflect on February favorites, say “goodbye,” and look towards March…my birthday month!

{ONE} Valentine’s Day

Not to be “that girl,” but Valentine’s Day was definitely a highlight this month. I’ve always loved the day and finding ways to celebrate, even if it’s treating myself to coffee not made in my Keurig. But I have to brag on Luke for a second because I really was shocked. Luke and I went out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants the night before Valentine’s Day (yes, during the Super Bowl but we were home for the incredible half-time show and that’s all that really matters). But on Valentine’s Day, he had flowers delivered to our house since I was working from home. It was a sweet gesture and I was not expecting it at all! My mom also stopped by with Starbucks’ cake pops and coffee, and it was truly a great day.

{TWO} My Apple Watch

I got an Apple Watch this month! I have been using a Fitbit Versa for a few years and loved it, but I’ve been looking for something that tracks more health stats and can sync more easily with MyFitnessPal and other apps that I frequently use. Luke surprised me with a rose gold Apple Watch for Valentine’s Day, and it’s been fun experimenting and seeing all that it can do! (If you have an Apple Watch, let me know some of your favorite features!)

{THREE} Drip Cafe & Sleeping Bird Coffee

Drip Cafe and Sleeping Bird Coffee are two of the coffee shops I shared in my Local Coffee Shop Bucket List this past summer. Both cafes have delicious coffee and plenty of indoor seating. I grabbed coffee with a few friends throughout the month and loved getting to actually go and sit in actual coffee shops! I missed it.

{FOUR} Home office organization

I tackled organizing my home office this month, thanks to this drawer organization set I found on Amazon. I spend so much time at my desk, whether it’s working from home, studying, writing papers, or blogging, that if it’s not organized and clutter-free, it can become difficult to focus and get work done. The top of my desk always felt so cluttered with stationery, pens and pencils, and notebooks, and I knew a little organization would go a long way. I took an hour or so on a Sunday to declutter and reorganize my desk drawers and it was a GAME CHANGER. I may or may not be obsessed with drawer organizers now. #NoShame

{FIVE} Stok iced coffee

I am sure I’ve mentioned Stok iced coffee in the past, but I have to give it another shoutout. I love this iced coffee! You can grab it at any grocery store (including Aldi!). It’s delicious and pairs well with a little caramel creamer. It’s the perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up, especially on those 65-degrees feels-like-spring February days.

{SIX} Pink trench coat

Have I mentioned my pink trench coat on the blog yet?! I don’t think I have!! I received a PINK trench coat for Christmas from my parents and it is now my favorite coat of all time. It is from Old Navy and is very on-brand if I do say so myself. My favorite way I’ve styled it so far is with an all-black outfit (black sweater and black jeans), my leopard boots, and my black & leopard-print purse. Can it get more “Keri” than that? I think not. Here are the inspo photos I found on Pinterest.
